Abstract

he study is aim to improve learning cognitive outcomes biology grade XI IPA 2 of SMA N 1 Peranap in the academic years 2018/2019 with implementation Discovery Learning with Mind Mapping Media. The subject of study were grade XI IPA 2 students of SMA N 1 Peranap with the the total students were 34 students of 11 male and 23 female. This study is a classroom action research (AR) with the data were descriptive analized that collected on March - May 2019. The data analyzed technique in the research by using descriptive analyzed technique, data obtained was cognitive learning outcomes. Coo perative outcomes the obsorption learning outcomes students before (CAR) was ( 65,73 % ), after CAR the obsorption of students on cycle I was ( 71,23 % ) increased (5,5 %) before CAR and cycle II the of obsorption of students was ( 78,21 % ), increased ( 6 ,98 %) fro m cycle I. On cycle II was ( 47,05 %), whereas on cycle I was (64,70%) increase d (17,65%). On cycle II was (88,23%) increased (23,53 %). It could be concluded that implementation Discovery Learning with Mind Mapping Media could improve learning outcomes biol ogy grade XI IPA 2 students of SMA N 1 Peranap in the academic year 2018/2019.
