Abstract
This study aims to determine the form of the Pangian Silat performance in a wedding ceremony in Puntianai Village, Batang Cenaku District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The theory used is the theory of Murgianto (2018) which states that in other words in a performance there must be a performer (performer), an audience (audience), the message sent, and a typical way of delivering the message. The medium can be auditive, visual, and a combination of both: motion, behavior, sound, appearance, multimedia, and so on. performances that require time and space. The formulation of the problem in this research is how is the form of the Pangian Silat performance in a wedding ceremony in Puntianai Village, Batang Cenaku District, Indragiri Hulu Regency?. The results of this study can find out how the form of the Pangian Silat performance in a wedding ceremony in Puntianai Village, Batang Cenaku District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The method used is descriptive analysis method based on qualitative data. Data collection techniques were carried out by: (1) observation, (2) interviews, (3) documentation. The subjects of this study were 15 people, namely 1 Pangian silat coach in Puntianai Village, 6 musicians, 6 fighters, 3 traditional institutions, 1 Puntianai Village Head. Based on the results of research that has been done by the author about the form of Pangian Silat Performances in Weddings in Puntianai Village, Batang Cenaku District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Pangian silat in weddings in Puntianai Village aims to welcome the arrival of the groom and invited guests. The variety of movements contained in this Pangian silat show are: greetings of worship (sombah), flower of silat (Bungo silat), motion of attacking the opponent (Nak Makan), motion of fending off the opponent's attack (Nak Lopas) and closing greetings. The musical instruments that accompany the Pangian silat performance are: 2 drums (Gondang) and 1 gong (tawak-tawak).
