Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of the Implementation of Cultural Arts Teaching (Getting to Know the Rhythmic Musical Instrument Game) on Class VII C Retarded Students in the Special School of Trustees Pekanbaru year 2019/2020. The theory used in this research is the theory of Wina Sanjaya saying in the implementation of learning the teacher must know the learning program, namely: 1) Curriculum, 2) Syllabus, 3) RPP, 4) Facilities and infrastructure, 5) Methods used, 6) Evaluation (2008: 28). The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. There are 3 data collection techniques which are observation technique, interview technique, and documentation. The subjects in this study were 6 people, 5 mentally retarded children and 1 teacher in class VII C Tunagrahita Extraordinary School of Trustees Pekanbaru. The curriculum used at the Extraordinary Schools of the Pekanbaru Supervising School is K.13. The method used in teaching is the Question and Answer, Assignment, Lecture and Demonstration methods. Subjects in the study were 1 class teacher and 5 mentally retarded grade VII C students from the Special School of Trustees in Pekanbaru. The material learned about knowing the rhythmic musical instrument playing with 2x35 minutes of 2x meetings was obtained by some students being able to get to know the instrument and how to play it in a number of students who did not remember and recognize the name of the musical instrument they had learned. The infrastructure provided is still lacking. Furthermore, the assessment conducted by the teacher is attitude assessment, knowledge assessment, and skills assessment.
