Abstract
This study aims to analyze the negative impact of addiction to the Free Fire online game on third grade students of SD Negeri 177 Pekanbaru. Technological developments in the digital era have caused some third grade elementary school (SD) students to prefer the Free Fire online game rather than learning activities, so that excessive gaming activity triggers the negative impact of Free Fire online game addiction on students. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The data collection method used in this research is in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were 4 (four) people, consisting of 3 (three) third grade elementary school students and their guardians of third grade elementary school students 177 Pekanbaru. The results showed that the negative impact of the Free Fire online game dominated students. This can be seen through students' daily activities, such as communicating more in the virtual world (games), reduced empathy, rarely interacting or ignoring their surroundings, impaired health, saying rude and dirty words, and becoming dependent on online games.
