Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determined whether there is a relationship of metacognition awareness and way of learning with biology learning outcomes based on the academic ability of class X and XI science students in public high school 9 Pekanbaru academic year 2018/2019. The research was conducted from September 2019 to Oktober 2019. The study was a correlational and data correlation using questionnaires, documentation and interviews. The sample in this research as many as 129 students with different level of academic ability. Analysis of the data in this study using correlation analysis Person Product Moment. The result showed that (1) for high academic, learning mehod (X1), the metacognition awareness (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) there is a medium correlation (0,676). (2) for medium academic, learning mehod (X1), the metacognition awareness (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) there is a low relationship (0,213). (3) for low academic, learning mehod (X1) metacognition awareness (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) there is a medium relationship (0,557). For significant test scores showed (1) learning mehod (X1), the metacognition awareness (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) thitung (5,025) > ttabel (1,697). (2) for medium academic, learning mehod (X1) the metacognition awareness (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) thitung (24,94) > ttabel (1,730). (3) for low academic, learning mehod (X1), the metacognition awareness (X2) with biology learning outcomes (Y) thitung (3,051) > ttabel (1,697). Indicates a significant between way of learning and metacognition awareness with result of biology study based on the academic ability of class X and XI science student in SMAN 9 Pekanbaru on academic 2018/2019.
