Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between motivation in learning with learning outcomes science grade VIII students of MTS Hasanah Pekanbaru Academic Year of 2017/2018. This research is a quantitative research using correlational approach. The population in this study were all students of grade MTS Hasanah Pekanbaru. Sample of this research consists are 100 students consist of three classes namely VIII1, VIII2 and VIII3. The technique of collecting data using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Analysis of the data in this study using correlation analysis Pearson Product Moment. The results showed that between the variable X (motivation in learning) and variable Y (learning outcome science) correlation is moderate or sufficient, with a correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0,54%, with the contribution of motivation learning the learning outcome of science at 29,16 %. Based on the results of t test analysis obtained tcount 6,35 > ttable 1,6605 then Ha accepted, thus it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between motivation in learning with learning outcomes science grade VIII students of MTS Hasanah Pekanbaru Academic Year of 2017/2018.
