Abstract
This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of biology science students of class VIII C SMP 03 Base Kuras Academic Year 2018/2019 in the application of the CIRC learning model (Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition). The research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using descriptive data analysis carried out from February to April 2019, the data obtained are student learning outcomes carried out in 2 cycles. The subjects of this study were class VIII C SMP 03 Pangkalan Kuras which amounted to 30 students consisting of 15 male students and 15 female students. Absorption of student learning outcomes before PTK is 72.46%, absorption after PTK cycle I is 80.84%, an increase of 8.38%, in cycle II the absorption of students is 84.47 and an increase of 3.63% , KI learning outcomes before PTK was 77.46%, KI absorption after PTK cycle I was 78.18% which increased by 0.72%, while in the second cycle the absorption of KI students was 81.11%, an increase of 2.93%. Based on the results of the study concluded that teaching and learning activities with the application of the CIRC learning model (Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition) can improve learning outcomes of class VIII C students of SMPN 03 Base Curas Academic Year 2018/2019.
