Abstract
This study aims to determine pedagogic competencies based on the regulation of the Minister of National Education Number 16 of 2007 which is owned by Science / Biology teachers in 34 Public Middle Schools in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. This study uses a Qualitative Descriptive Method in which researchers attempt to peel the research data through primary data sources in the form of questionnaires and observations, supplemented by secondary data sources in the form of documentation data and interviews with science / biology teachers in 34 State Junior High Schools in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru. The sample used was 3 Biology teachers. Next is descriptive analysis data. The results of the study can be categorized as competent with an average percentage of 82.41%. Pedagogic competencies possessed by science / biology teachers in 34 Public Schools in Marpoyan Damai Subdistrict, Pekanbaru City are in line with the Minister of National Education Regulation 16 of 2007, but there need to be some improvements or improvements such as indicators developing curriculum related to subjects taught, conducting learning educating, facilitating the development of potential students to actualize the various potentials they have, organizing assessments and evaluating learning processes and outcomes, and utilizing the results of evaluation and evaluation for the benefit of learning which are still not competent.
