Abstract

ABSTRACT The Influence of Character Education on Students’ Emotional Intelligence at Department of Office Administration Academic year 2018 SMK Labor Binaan FKIP UNRI Pekanbaru By NOVIZA 152410095 Many reseach about emotional intelligence have been done, but students’ intelligence still have problems.It is assumed can be solved by character education. The aim of this reseach is to find out the influence of character education on students’ emotional intelligence at Department of Office Administration Academic year 2018 SMK Labor Binaan FKIP UNRI Pekanbaru. This reseach is correlational study with total population and samples are 71 students. Data collection is by using questionnaire and analyzed by using simple regression. The result of this reseach shows there is influence of character education on students’ emotional intelligence (sig 0.000) .The persentage of character education on Students’ emotional intelligence is R square : 0.319 or 31,9% with the range 0.20-399 (R : 0.565 or 56.5%). Character education is predicted if it is implemeted can increase the emotional intelligence is 0.389 or 38.9%, while if it is not implemented it can reduce the emotional intelligence is 38.9%. This reseach concludes that the character education influnce on students’ emotional intelligence at SMK Labor Binaan FKIP UNRI Pekanbaru.
