Abstract

This study aims to reveal the strategy of implementing Pacu Jalur cultural activities in the Destination Development Section of the Tourism and Culture Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency. The assessment indicators include communicating an intention (vision) to be achieved to others, connecting or linking the strengths or advantages of the organization to opportunities from its environment, taking advantage of or exploiting the successes and successes obtained now, as well as investigating new opportunities, generating and generating resources. -more resources than are used now, coordinating and directing the activities or activities of the organization going forward, and responding and reacting to new situations encountered all the time. The type of research located at the Department of Tourism and Culture of Kuantan Singingi Regency is a combined research (quantitative and qualitative), which prioritizes a list of questionnaires and interviews as a data collection tool, and the data obtained are used as research primary data to analyze research objectives at the location studied. There are three groups of population and samples in this study, namely the Agency, community leaders, and the general public. The sample size set for the three groups was 2 people from the Agency, 15 people from community leaders, and 57 people from the community. The two sampling techniques used are the saturated sample technique or the census technique and the purposive technique. The types and techniques of data collection used consisted of, primary data collected by questionnaire and interview techniques, secondary data by observation, documentation, and library techniques. While the data analysis technique used is descriptive technique. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the strategy for implementing the cultural activities of the spur of the road in the Destination Development Section of the Tourism and Culture Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency is implemented. It is known from the average answer to the questionnaire of 83.08% or with the implemented category. Recommendations that need to be considered are related to the importance of good communication, coordination and cooperation between the government, the community, and various related parties, as well as the existence of various opportunities that can be utilized by the community, so that an activity can be carried out or implemented properly.
