Abstract
This study is motivated by the phenomenon of 10 fishing ponds in Pekanbaru city that use tenancy system to rent fishing ponds. Fishing pond is one of the attractions favored by men to channel their hobbies. The contract used in this renting activity is Ijarah contract or tenancy agreement. Tenancy (Ijarah) means to hand over (give) benefits or objects to other people or with compensation for payment, the tenant has the benefit of the object being rented based on the provisions in the agreement or the terms of the agreed tenancy agreement. The formulation of the problem of this study is how the Fiqh Muamalah reviews on the tenancy system of fishing ponds in Pekanbaru city. The type of study is Field Research with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. After the data have been collected and analyzed using the Qualitative Descriptive method, the results of the study show that the tenancy system carried out by 10 fishing ponds in Pekanbaru City has not fully met the pillars and legal requirements of the Ijarah transaction set out in the Fiqh Muamalah, because there are still some cheating and fraud activities found such as the existence of fish itself and the race system conducted at some fishing ponds in Pekanbaru city in which the winners get the prize while the losers get nothing, even though they have paid the same price.
