Abstract

The background of this research is the issue of professional zakat is still being debated among scholars especially in the contemporary era because this term did not exist in the time of the Prophet. Along with the development of zakat and the increase in the human profession, the term professional zakat appears or is called zakat income. One of the scholars who support professional alms is Yusuf al-qordhawi. The purpose of this study is to know the professional zakat law in the Islamic view and take the most benefit from the opinion of scholars. This type of research is a library research library research using data derived from primary sources and secondary sources. The category framework used is the zakat income law from contemporary scholars and the MUI fatwa in 2003. The results of this study are the many scholars who debate on professional zakat and there are scholars who support and reject professional alms, opinions that agree with professional alms are yusuf al-qordhawi and Mui by using the term zakat income according to MUI fatwa no. 3 of 2003 and the opinion that disagrees is Sheikh m. bin shaleh al-ustaimin with the term is not justified to equate salary with crops. Provisions on zkaat profession are 85 grams of gold with a scale of 2.5% with the qiyas method of agricultural zakat
