Abstract

The purpose in this research examined to describe the different of stduents’ Al-Qur’an recitation ability by using Ummi method and conventional method at Islamic Junior High School Islamiyah Baru Village in Siak Hulu Subdistrict Kampar Regency Riau Province. This research was quasi experiment with pretest and posttest design. This research used an experiment group and a control group. The population was 22 students in class VIII at MTs Islamiyah Baru Village and sampling took 22 students. Data collection technique was done with test and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis technique used t test statistical technique (independent and paired samples) with SPSS 23 program. This research finding showed that there was any significant different (sig .004) between students used Ummi method toward conventional method. Besides, Ummi method was proved more effective to increase students’ Al-Qur’an recitation ability that could be seen in significant level (sig .000) between pretest and posttest.
