Abstract

Abstract Communication Behavior of Village Heads in Building Villages (Case Study of Road Construction in Gunung Sahilan District, Kampar Regency) Dwi Purwanti ( 159110131 ) This research is motivated by the desire to know the Communication Behavior of Village Heads in Building Villages (Case Study of Road Construction in Gunung Sahilan District, Kampar Regency). Communication behavior occurs because of the actions or activities of a person or group involved in the communication process in this case communication behavior has two forms of communication behavior, namely, open communication behavior and closed communication behavior. Open communication behavior is an action or activity carried out openly and can be clearly observed by others. Closed communication behavior is a form of action or reaction carried out by someone who cannot be observed by others and the information is still limited. The type of research conducted by researchers is a type of qualitative descriptive research with interviews, observation and documentation data. In this study, here the researcher emphasizes the behavior of the village head in developing the village during road construction related to forms of communication behavior, the form of communication behavior here is divided into two, namely the form of open communication behavior and forms of closed communication behavior. The two forms of communication behavior greatly influence the performance of the Village Head in road construction, because communication behavior itself is very important to know how the Village Head's actions or reactions when the road construction takes place. This has resulted in several obstacles in road infrastructure development carried out by the Village Head and the Community, namely lack of coordination, the presence of communication, lack of synchronization and lack of planning in development. The results of the study show that in this study there were three villages regarding the communication behavior of the Village Head in Building Villages in Gunung Sahilan Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, in the three villages having different forms of behavior, in the Makmur village Prosperous communication behavior The village head had a closed behavior. Whereas in the Prosperous Village village the Head of the Village has a form of semi-open communication behavior and Gunung Sari itself The village head has a form of open behavior, this is seen from the delivery of information about the village conducted by the village head to the community.
