Abstract
In the process of teaching and learning some children have a less good archievement. One of the causes is they do not have enough learning motivation. Then the role of teacher is not only teaching in the classroom but also giving learning motivation to the students. This research asmed to know the process, the style, and factor that support and obstruct teacher interpersonal communication in motivating students learning. Students desire of learning goes down and they always play in the classroom when teaching and learning process takes place. The cause is because the lack of encovragement of learning from parents at home. Then through teacher interpersonal communication with direct face to face with students played the full role in motivating learning. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method that is intended to give description about the symproms of social which happens based on a non participant observation, interview and document references in SDN 002 Langgini Bangkinang. The subject consists of 5 person, there are headmaster, 2 of homeroom teachers, and 2 students with the lowest score. The object of research is teacher interpersonal communication in motivating students learning in SDN 002 Langgini Bangkinang. The technique of data analycis is done by descriptive processing. The technique of examination of data validity is done by the extension of participation and triangulation. The result of the research shows that (1) the process of homeroom teacher interpersonal communication with students from 4th and 5th grade in increasing learning motivation runs effectively (based on the purpose of interpersonal communication in general). This is due to the teacher calls the students directly and listens to the students gripe, then they give the instruction and motivation well. (2) The style of interpersonal communication is also running effectively, because the style of message delivery in verbal communication liked by students because teachers deliver them gently so that the students want to carry out what the teacher wants. (3) factors that support teacher interpersonal communication with students are the students intelligence ang giving them the reward, and factors that obstruct it are the nature of children of being bored and their desire to play.
