Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of the laboratory and competence of teachers of laboratory IPA /Biology Junior High School22 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2017/2018. Based on Permendiknas No 24 Year 2007 and Permendiknas No 26 Year 2008.This research is a descriptivesurvey of quantitative and qualitativedescriptive data analysis. The sample in this research is the biology teacher who runs the laboratory of SMP Negeri22 Pekanbaru. The data of this study were collected through observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation recording. Data processing technique of this study using a questionnaire by way of expert vaidasi. From the results of research on laboratory profile obtained percentage on each indicator that is: facility of furniture that is 96,42% categorized very complete, education equipment that is 33,38% categorized not complete, education media that is 100% categorized very complete, 100% categorized as complete. while the result of research competence of laboratory manager of labor obtained by percentage of each aspect that is: qualification aspect that is 100% categorized very competent, personality competence aspect that is 96% categorized very competent, social competency aspect that is 100% categorized very competent, managerial competence aspect that is 67% categorized as competent, and aspect of professional competence that is 68,55% is categorized as competent. The average percentage of the overall profile of SMP Negeri 22 Pekanbaru laboratory is 82.45% categorized as complete and in accordance with permendiknas No.24 of 2007. While the average percentage of the overall competence of SMP Negeri 22 Pekanbaru laboratory management teachers is 79.55% is categorized as very competent and in accordance with permendiknas No.26 of 2008.
