Abstract
This study aims to improve students' biology learning outcomes after the application of the methods of observation on VII1 grade students in MTS Islamic Centre Al Hidayah Kampar in academic year 2016/2017. Retrieval of data starting from January 19 until February 17, 2017. The research subjects were students MTS Islamic Centre Al Hidayah Kampar in academic year 2016/2017, amounting to 30 students. This research is a classroom action research (PTK). Data were analyzed descriptively The result of data analysis from applying of Observation Method for cognitive value obtained by students absorption increased (3,6%) from before PTK that is (73,6%) to (77,2%) in Cycle I, and increased by 6, 7%) to (83.9%) after cycle II. For the second quarter, the rate of increase was 4.9% (77.9%) in Cycle I, and it increased to 4.7% (82.7%) after Cycle II, for psikomotorik value obtained by absorption of students has increased (2.%) from the prior PTK namely (75.0%) to (77.9%) Siklus I, and an increase of (4.8%) to (82.7%) after the second cycle. Based on the results and discussion can be concluded that the application of methods of observation can improve the performance capabilities in biology students class VII1 MTS Islamic Centre Al Hidayah Kampar in academic year 2016/2017.
