Abstract
This study aims to determine the pedagogic competence of biology teachers at Bernas State Senior High School and SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci. The results of initial observation, Less optimal in determining learning difficulties learners in Biology lessons, not optimal in creating a conducive learning climate and not optimal communication effectively, empathic, and courteous to learners, not optimal in conducting evaluation at the end of learning, then conducted research pedagogic competence of Biology teacher at Bernas State Senior High School and SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci Academic Year 2017/2018. This research uses qualitative and quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were five Biology teachers at Bernas State Senior High School and SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci. Based on data analysis of pedagogical competence of biology teacher at Bernas State Senior High School and SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci, 10 indicators of pedagogic competence of teachers based on Permendiknas Year 2007 can be concluded that pedagogic competence of Biology teacher in Bernas State Senior High School is highly competent with 90.72% and SMA Negeri 1 Kerinci base can be categorized competent with 86.98% percentage.
