Abstract

This research aims to determine the relation of self-concept and the way of biology learning outcomes students’ grade XI in SMA 14 Pekanbaru & SMAS YLPI Pekanbaru Academic Year 2017/2018. This research conducted from January until February 2018. This research was a quantitative research that using correlation approach and quisioner to collected data using questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The population of all students of class XI SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru & SMAS YLPI Pekanbaru is 211 students’ with 84 students’ sample in SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru & 43 student sample at SMAS YLPI Pekanbaru. Analysis of data in this study using correlation analysis Person Product Moment. The result of research in SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru shows that (1) there is a strong correlation between self concept and way of biology leaning outcomes students’ grade XI SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru, with correlation coefficient value (rx1x2y) 0,6483 where as contribution self concept and way studied the results of study by 42.02%. For the test valueof significance tcount (7,663)>ttabel (1989), indicated that there is a significant relationship between self concept and way of biology learning outcomes student’s grade XI SMA 14 Pekanbaru academic year 2017/2018. The result of research at SMAS YLPI Pekanbaru show sthat (2) there is a medium relationship between self concept and learning method with learning result of class XI biology SMAS YLPI Pekanbaru, with correlation coefficient value (rx1x2y) 0,4898 where as self concept and way of study biology learning outcomes 23.99%. For significance test of tcount (3.553)>ttable (2,019), it shows that there is a significant correlation between self concept and way of biology learning outcomes students’ grade XI SMAS YLPI Pekanbaru, academic year 2017/2018.
