Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out whether there is any significant effect of of google classroom on students’ writing ability in descriptive text at second grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru. This research was experimental research. The population of this research was the second grade students at SMP Negeri Pekanbaru. The sample of this research were divided into two classes : class VIII.5 as experimental class and class VIII.6 as control class. Instrument for collecting the data was written test of descriptive text using google classroom media. The data were in the forms of pretest and post-test scores. The pre-test was given to both classes before the treatment and the podt-test was given at the end of the treatment. During this research, the students of the experimental class were taught by using google classroom media. The data were analyzed by using Paired sample t-test from SPSS 23 program. The data of both pre-test and post-test from experimental class were also compared. The result of t-test of the post test It showed is10.138> at level of significant 5% is 2.647and at level of significant 1% is 2.380. In other word, > , it means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis(Ha) is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of Google classroomon Students’ Writing Ability in Descriptive Text at Second Grade Students of SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru.
