Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the factors that influence in integration of Information and Communication Technology in Teaching English at Junior High School in Pekanbaru. This research focused on Teacher’s problem. The research design of this study was case study. The participant of this research was English Teacher of Junior High School. The sample of this research was used purposive sampling and there were 14 teachers as the sample. The instruments of the research were questionnaire and interview. There were 30 question for questionnaire and 7 questions for interview. The data were analyzed by categorize the data based on indicators, describe the data and make a conclusion. From the result, younger and older English teacher were seldom to use ICT in teaching and learning process. There was no relation between gender and ICT integration. Similar findings were also for the level of education. The number of teaching experiences also did not influence the use of ICT. Most of respondents has been received the training in ICT that made the teachers understand about ICT. Most of the respondents, that said that the facilities that provided by school were inadequate. It means that the school should adequate facilities to make the teachers motivate and students in teaching and learning process teacher’s workload did not influence the integration of ICT. because the teacher can prepare the materials. Last, the teachers have positive attitude toward the use of ICT.
