Abstract
The development of the era of making motorcycle gang groups is not only synonymous with the role of men, but has penetrated the women. Women's motorcycle gang action is now a concern because it is involved in acts of violence such as beatings, fights, and wild races. Family functioning in adolescents has an important role for adolescents to avoid juvenile delinquency in women's motorcycle gangs. This research aims to determine the relationship of family functioning with juvenile delinquency in women's motorcycle gangs. The subjects of this research consisted to 40 members of the women's motorcycle gang in Pekanbaru. The sampling technique used saturated sampling technique. The instruments used are two scale, family assessment device scale from Eipstein, Baldwin, and Bishop (1983) which had been adapted into Indonesian by researchers using the forward translation technique, and the scale of selfreported delinquency from Elliot and Ageton (1980) that had been adapted in the Indonesian version by Zuhairah and Tatar (2017). The results showed a significant negative relationship between family functioning and juvenile delinquency in female motorcycle gangs (r = -0.4487; p = 0.00; p <0.01). This shows that the higher the functioning of the family, the lower juvenile delinquency in the women's motorcycle gang, and the lower the functioning of the family, the higher the juvenile delinquency in the women's motorcycle gang.
