Abstract

The cultures that are formed in each region vary, therefore in every region they have their own habits. Cultural differences are caused by differences such as environmental factors, human natural factors themselves and other factors that create cultural diversity. Community perception is a process that involves cognition (knowledge), affection (attitude) and connotation (assessment) of the community in giving responses to certain things or objects obtained through the five senses that are owned, so that an image of the object or subject is perceived. The purpose of this study was to describe the perception of the Malay community on the role of Niniak Mamak as a counselor in solving the problem of child abuse in the village of Rambah Hilir Pasir Pengaraian. The sample of this study was 68 Malay Community. The sampling technique used stratifiet random sampling technique. Data collection methods used in this study are scale methods. The method of analysis in this study used descriptive data analysis. The results of the research on the Perception of the Malay Community Against the Role of Niniak Mamak can be concluded that the average respondent's answers about the Perception of the Malay Community to the Role of Niniak Mamak are low. When viewed from the cognitive aspect, the average respondent's answer is in the low category with a total of 26 people (38.2%), then viewed from the affective aspect with a low average response of 25 people (36.9%) and from the conative aspect of average the average respondent's answer was low with a total of 27 people (13.8%).
