Abstract

In every urban and district must apply and have a green open space of at least 30% of the total area. Currently in the city of Pekanbaru, there is not yet enough fulfillment of 30 % even far in meeting the green open space in the Pekanbaru city area today. The statement above is contained in law number 26 0f 2007 concerning spatial planning. The government’s efforts will look for land that can bulid green open spaces in each district so that the achievement of the implementation is fulfilled. The theoretical concept that I use is effectiveness. This study aims to determine the extent to which the application in the fulfillment of green open space in the city of Pekanbaru, where the application of green open space in every city and district is measured by 3 indicators, namely: achievement of goals, integration, and adaptation. This type of research located in the city’s new PUPR Office this week is a descriptive survey with qualitative research methods, that is collecting data by face to face and interacting with people at the research site. Data analysis in this study searches and composes systematically the data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation, by collecting data into categories, describing it into units, synthesizing, compiling into patterns, choosing which ones are important and which will learned, and made conclusions. Based on this technical analysis, the research assesses and concludes that the effectiveness of the development of green open spaces in Pekanbaru city must be optimized again in its application to be achieved effectively.
