Abstract

igid pavement layer can be directly constructed on the soft subgrade and/or base layer. Pavement will support traffic loads and thermal loads that causes frequently bending moment on the pavement. Those can cause pavement demages such as flatless and pavement broken. Rigid pavement design standart was based on the assumption that the subgrade condition has enough stiffness to resist the traffic loads. The soft soils will need more thicker pavement that causes additional structure loads and will cause disadvantages for soft soil capacity. Laboratory observation was done over models in clay soil. The behavior of the slab which reinforced by short friction piles to resist static load will be further explained.
