Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes achieved by students in the map material. The learning media used during use is thought to be the cause of students' low understanding of map material. This study aims to develop a Children's Map Toy media (Mapena) on map material for fifth grade students at SDN 193 Pekanbaru. This study uses development research with the ADDIE development model. This study uses three stages. The first stage is the analysis stage, where learning materials are evaluated, the needs of teachers and students are analyzed, and the necessary initial information is collected. The second stage is the design stage, in which Mapena learning media is designed according to the needs that have been previously identified. The third stage is the development stage, which includes testing the validity of learning media. The data used in this study came from various sources, including teachers, students, validators, as well as references such as journals, books and previous research. Data was collected through interviews, questionnaires and documentation, then analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study indicate that the assessment of the material aspects of Mapena media reaches a percentage of 87.5%, with a very decent category. Meanwhile, in terms of media aspects, Mapena media obtained a percentage of 95.45%, also in the very decent category. Overall, the validity of Mapena media gets an average score of 91.47%, so that the media can be categorized as very feasible and does not require revision.
