Abstract

This study aims to determine the length of the incubation period of various organic and inorganic fertilizers on soil physical properties for shallot growing media. The research was conducted in Kualu Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. The design used in this study was a single Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 13 treatments with 3 replications to obtain 39 experimental units. Data from observations of each treatment were analyzed statistically. If the calculated F is greater than the F table then proceed with the DMRT follow-up test at the 5% level. The parameters for observing soil physical properties are soil temperature, soil color, soil bulk density, particle density, and soil porosity. Based on the research results the average soil temperature at 07.00-08.00 WIB, 13.00-14.00 WIB and 17.0018.00 WIB with sunny and hot weather conditions the daily soil temperature is 36.50C. While the average soil temperature at 07.00-08.00 WIB, 13.00-14.00 WIB and 17.00-18.00 WIB with rainy night weather conditions, sunny afternoon weather and drizzling evening weather the daily soil temperature is 34.20C higher than the soil temperature for growth onion plant. Soil color produced in the long incubation time treatment of organic fertilizers and the comparison of recommendations for inorganic fertilizers, namely 2.5Y 3/1, 7.5YR 2.5/1, 7.5YR 3/1, 10YR 3/1, whereas in the control treatment 5YR 6/1. The long incubation time of organic fertilizers and the comparison of inorganic fertilizer recommendations for shallot growing media have a significant effect on soil bulk density and soil porosity values. The best treatment was found in the long incubation period of 1 month + chicken manure + farmer fertilization (B10).
