Abstract
Jengkol is a woody shrub that can grow in both highlands and lowlands and has beneficial health content. The need for jengkol fruit is increasing, but only a few people cultivate this plant. Jengkol plants have an average height of 20 meters with round, brown fruit. Using liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) in agriculture is one way towards sustainable agriculture that has many benefits for soil nutrients and plant growth and is environmentally friendly. This study aims to determine the effect of interaction and the main impact of giving Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) to eggshells and coffee grounds on the growth of jengkol pre-nursery. The research was carried out in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, from November 2021 to February 2022. The experiment used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Factorial consisting of two factors: the concentration of eggshell LOF (C) and the dose of coffee grounds. Each treatment is as follows: coffee dose: 0; 200; 400; 600 ml/l and LOF concentration: 0; 32.5; 65; 97.5 g/polybag. Data were analyzed using statistical analysis, and if there was a difference, continued using the 5% BNJ test. The results showed that There was a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh weight, dry weight per plant, and root volume. The treatment of eggshell LOF concentration of 600 ml/l and a dose of coffee grounds of 97.5 g/polybag produced the highest growth and yield in jengkol plants. Coffee grounds significantly affected all observation parameters, with 97.5 g/polybag being the most effective dose. It was concluded that chicken eggshell LOF and coffee grounds with a dose of 97.5 g/polybag and 600 ml can be used to help the growth process in jengkol pre-nursery.
