Abstract

Translate Computers and mobile phone are commonly used technological instruments to support students in learning. For example, finding learning resources, especially English learning materials, is needed even as a means to translate from English to Indonesian or the other way around. One of the services that students are interested in translating is Google Translate. The subject was the fourth semester students and there were 57 students at The Fourth Semester Students of English Language Education FKIP Universitas Islam Riau. To get the data needed, this study utilized in this quantitative research was a questionnaire. There were 17 statements on the survey. The Likert scale formula was used to quantitative approach in this research. The result of this research majority of students selected "agree" for each of the questionnaire 17 statements, according to the data. Additionally, the researcher calculated each indicator average index percentage, which is the first indicator, general questions, had an approval level of 65.64% (agree), the percentage index for the second indicator, ease of use was 73.38% (agree), the percentage index for the third indicator, ease of learning was 68.70% (agree) and the percentage index for the fourth indicator, satisfaction was 70.07% (agree). Students in the English education study program are exposed to a great deal of material in English during the learning process. Students acknowledge that in order to understand the English-language content, they have used Google Translate to convert it into Indonesian and vice versa.
