Abstract
As for the topic under study in this seminar is “maslahah Concept and Functions In Building Civil Society”. Islamic Sharia derived by Allah, to mankind aims to deliver the people who are obedient to His commands, to guarantee a perfect human life both in this world and in the hereafter. Among the main features of Islamic Shari’a is to maintain maslahah, namely keeping the good and the interests of Muslims as a whole, in building civil society. Whatever is desired by Islam is not maslahah who along with lust, but maslahah essential, which could bring the public interest, not the interests of a particular party. Maslahahmaslahah also brings to the maintenance of religion, soul or lifemaintenance, maintenance of reasonable maintenance of offspring, and property maintenance.
