Abstract

MTs Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru was one of the private Islamic junior high schools in Pekanbaru that received a lot of enthusiasm from the community so that their children could get an education there. Many students felt bored while learning Islamic moral education because most teachers used a lecture method, which made students less interested, not very attentive, or unfocused in their studies, and less engaged in learning Islamic moral education. The problem formulated was how teachers made efforts to increase students' interest in learning Islamic moral education in the 7th grade of Islamic Junior High School Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru. The aim of this research was to understand the efforts made by teachers to enhance students' interest in learning Islamic moral education in the 7th grade of Islamic Junior High School Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru. This research was of a qualitative descriptive type.The subjects of this research were the Islamic moral education teachers at Islamic Junior High School Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru. Meanwhile, the objects of this research were the interest in learning of the 7th-grade students of Islamic Junior High School Muhammadiyah in the subject of Islamic moral education. The results and conclusions of the research showed the efforts made by the teacher in increasing the interest of the 7th-grade students at Islamic Junior High School Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru in the subject of Islamic moral education. Facilities such as projectors and speakers were available, and the teacher used film media as a learning model in the Islamic moral education subject. This film media was expected to provide new and more enjoyable impressions, making the classroom atmosphere more effective for learning Islamic moral education, for instance, using stories of the Prophets to reinforce students' Islamic moral values by providing film illustrations to easily depict the behavior and struggles of the Prophets.
