Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of entrepreneurs, employees, and business profiles; agro-industry business analysis; Pineapple chips agro-industry development strategy; and policy implications. This research was conducted at Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) Kuala Alam, Bengkalis District, using a survey method. Intentional collection of respondents, consisting of employees and directors of BUMDes, resellers, customers, Village Government, Government Officials, and Experts. The results showed that: (1) (a) The characteristics of employers and employees are at a productive age; education of entrepreneurs and employees is at the secondary level; the business experience of entrepreneurs and employees is still low; dependents of the businessman's family are in a good category; (b) Business profile; BUMDes was established on November 17, 2015, the Processing Unit was formed in 2020; the organizational structure is complete; Operating capital IDR 64,000,000,-; business life is still low; Labor belongs to the category of small industries. (2) Analysis of production process business using production technology; the use of factors of production has not been efficient; total cost Rp 1,077,136; production from 9.1 Kg; receipt IDR 1,183,000; profit Rp 105,864,-; RCR 1.10; BEP Unit = 6.15 Kg and BEP Rupiah = Rp 799,394; added value Rp 6.981,5/ Kg raw materials. (3) Development strategy; IFE score of 2.77 and EFE value of 3.61; the highest SWOT analysis was high in the ST quadrant of 0.76; QSPM, the highest Total Attractiveness Score (TAS), is a strategy to maintain product quality and create innovations by utilizing existing resources and facilities. (4) Policy implications: internships or comparative studies, efficient use of tools and machinery, minimizing labor wages, maintaining product quality, product innovation, improving infrastructure support, and increasing electrical power supply.
