Abstract

The ability to write essays is the most important and strategic ability for students. Writing essays can foster a critical spirit and creativity in students. Writing is a form of expressing opinions that can be accepted and is a medium for communication between writers and readers. Communication carried out in learning is assisted by a platform, namely Padlet. The aim of this research is to An Analysis of Writing Essays Using Padlet at The Third Semester Students of English Language Education FKIP UIR. The method used in this research is qualitative, using questionnaires and documentation. Questionnaires were distributed to 37 third-semester students. There are five indicators needed in writing an essay, namely, 1. content. 2. organization. 3. use of language/grammar. 4. mechanics. 5. vocabulary: words. The results of this research show that students who have answered (60.4%). From these results, it can be concluded that Analysis of Writing Essays Using Padlet at The Third Semester Students of English Language Education FKIP UIR regarding the use of the Padlet platform in the learning process is good. Based on the interview results, it shows that the use of the Padlet platform in writing essays is generally good. Students agree that writing essay skill help them express the ideas they want to express, make it easier for them to do their assignments, and help them feel confident in writing essays.
