Abstract
The Researcher is interested in what is the students’ perception and the benefits of the teacher use code mixing in English class. This research aims to identify students’ perception on the use of code mixing in English teaching process. This qualitative method was employed for this specific study. The population of this study was the eight grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru, while the sample was selected through non-probability sampling technique that consist of 22 students. The data were collected on questionnaire and interview session. The findings of this research were presented descriptively in order to indicated the students perception on the use of code mixing in English learning process. This can be seen from the result of the students’ questionnaire mostly are strongly agree and in interview session the students agree that using code mixing in English learning process give the benefits for the students’.
