Abstract

The role of the Pekanbaru City Population and Family Planning Office in improving the Implementation of the Family Planning Program in Tuah Madani District, however this has not been implemented optimally, one of which is that there are still people who have not participated in the family planning program. Implementation of the family planning program can be carried out by determining socialization of family planning program activities, collaborating with community leaders, fostering family planning programs, providing facilities and infrastructure for family planning programs, counseling on family planning program activities, supervising family planning program activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibiting factors and the role of the Pekanbaru City Population Control and Family Planning Office in improving the implementation of the Family Planning Program in Tuah Madani District. The research method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. Role is a concept regarding what can be done by individuals in society as an organization, Role can also be said as individual behavior that is important for the social structure of society that has not been carried out optimally, this can be seen from the lack of cooperation and socialization carried out by the Population and Family Control Service Pekanbaru city planning makes people less aware of the importance of family planning programs. Apart from that, there is also a lack of family planning extension workers or so-called Family Planning Field Officers who make the performance of the Pekanbaru City Population Control and Family Planning Service and the lack of facilities and infrastructure in implementing the family planning program so that there are still people who have not followed the family planning program or contraceptive methods.
