Abstract

Household expenditure in this study includes all consumption expenditure. This research aims to analyze: 1) The development of variables that influence household expenditure in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province, 2) Household Food and Non-Food Expenditures in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province, 3) Factors that Influence Household Expenditures in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This research uses literature study, namely a method of collecting data by understanding and studying theories from various literature related to the research. The type of data used in this research is secondary data. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive statistical analysis to answer the development of variables that influence household food and non-food expenditure in Bengkalis Regency. Meanwhile, the factors that influence household expenditure are analyzed using multiple linear regression, the data used is time series data for 2000-2022. Research results: (1) The development of the variables of population income, population, education and savings tends to increase. Meanwhile, the inflation variable experiences fluctuations which tend to decrease. (2) Food and non-food expenditure in Bengkalis Regency where the proportion of food expenditure is greater than non-food expenditure. (3) Significant influencing factors household expenditure in Bengkalis Regency is population income and education. However, population savings and inflation are not significant affect household expenses.
