Abstract

Law enforcement with the concept of restorative justice is understood as a form of approach to resolving criminal cases by involving the perpetrator, victim, the perpetrator's family, the victim's family and other related parties to seek a fair solution with an emphasis on restoring the situation to its original state and not seeking retaliation. The main problems in this thesis research are: First, how to resolve medical disputes by implementing restorative justice as a basis for terminating investigations at the Riau Regional Police. Second, what are the obstacles in implementing medical dispute resolution using restorative justice as a basis for terminating investigations at the Riau Regional Police. This thesis research uses a sociological legal research method, namely research using a field study approach with data sources in the form of primary data and secondary data. The data collection process was carried out using observation, interviews, documentation and library research techniques. Next, draw conclusions deductively. The results of the research obtained were that the resolution of medical disputes at the Riau Regional Police with Police Report Number: LP/B/93/III/2023/SPKT/POLDA RIAU was resolved through restorative justice efforts, namely carried out through mediation, bringing together the victim's family as the reporter, reported person, figure. the community as mediator, and related parties until an agreement is reached and then efforts are made to record the agreement as a basis for ending the investigation. In the implementation of restorative justice efforts carried out in medical disputes at the Riau Regional Police, no obstacles were found.
