Abstract
This research was carried out with the aim of knowing about the difficulties and ways of learning students in learning biology based on gender in class VIII junior high school 1 Bandar Seikijang. Data collection was carried out in april until may 2019. The method used in this study is a survey. Data collection is done by using questionaires, observation, interviews, documentation. The subjects in this study were class VIII students totalling 167 people, then 60% random sampling, so that the samples taken were 100 samples, where for male gender there are 51 people and female gender 49 people. Based on the results of the research from the questionnaire sheet for the variable learning difficulties in the male gender obtained the average yield percentage of 55.87% and female gender obtained by the average percentage of 55.41%. While the results of the research from the questionnaire sheet for the variable way of learning in male gender obtained an average percentage of 57.14% and female gender obtained by the average percentage of 60.59%. This can be concluded that class VIII junior high school 1 Bandar Seikijang obtain the average yield percentage of learning difficulties both male and female gender is 55.64%, which show learning difficulties in the medium category. While the average percentage of learning methods for both male and female gender is 58.86%, which show how to study in the medium category.
