Abstract

This research have two purposes to identify related metters. The first is to find out some strategies that doing by Detention Center side for surmount the smuggling of narcotics inthe 1st class Detention Center of Pekanbaru, and the second purpose is to identify an obstacle for surmount the smuggling of narcotics in the first class Detention Center of Pekanbaru. This research enforceable in Pekanbaru as research located. The located is The first class Detention Center of Pekanbaru. This reserarch was carried out in Pekanbaru as the research location, with the reasearch location of the Class 1 State Prison in Pekan1st class Detention Center of Pekanbaru aru. The method used is qualitative by describing the reality of the object. The date used are primary date obtained directly from the object of research in the field and secondary date obtained from the results of literature studies. In collectiing research date through observation techniques, in-depth interviews with sources, and dokumentation in the form of taking photos with the sources. The results showed that there was indeed an incident of naracotics in the in the 1st class Detention Center of Pekanbaru. Efforts made by the detention center are : 1 Primary prevention is an intitial prevention effort carried out by the center 2 Secondary prevention efforts in the form of prevention prior to drug smuggling in detention centers 3. Tertiary prevention measures taken by law enforcement agencies the obstacles experienced by datention centers in overcoming naracotics smuggling are :1. Insufficient number of employess to secure the security of detention centers.
