Abstract

Nenas is one of the horticultural commodities that is widely cultivated in Indonesia, especially in Riau Province. East Dumai Subdistrict of Dumai City is an area that has a type of peatland, which is suitable for the cultivation of pineapple plants. This study aims to determine: (1) Characteristics of farmers and the profile of national farming businesses, (2) The use of inputs in production factors, production costs, income, and efficiency of national farming, (3) Factors that affect national production. This research was conducted in East Dumai District, Dumai City, Riau Province for 6 months starting from March to September 2022.The method used is the survey method. Sampling was carried out by census with a sample of 64 national farmers. The data analysis used is quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis, farming analysis and multiple linear regression with cobb-dougglass functions. The results showed that: (1) The average age of farmers is 46 years, the level of education is 8 years, the farming experience is 16 years, and the number of family dependents is 4 people. The farm business profile obtained an average land area of 1.74 ha, with the status of land leased and does not have a business license, the average business capital is Rp. 20,314,539, production is 33,842 Kg and average productivity is 19,110 / Kg. (2) Production costs obtained are Rp. 24,991,320, gross income is Rp. 84,642,082, net income is Rp. 59,650,985, and farm business efficiency (RCR) is 3.26.(3) The factors that have a real (significant) effect on national production in East Dumai Subdistrict of Dumai City are land area and seedlings at a real level of 5%. Meanwhile, the amount of labor, pesticides, Urea fertilizer, KCL fertilizer, NPK fertilizer, and flower stimulating substances have no real (significant) effect on national production.
