Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the mitigation (handling) of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Operational Risks, Kerumutan District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau During the Covid-19 Pandemic. The researcher used a qualitative method by means of a survey to obtain primary data. Data were collected through field observations and interviews with 2 BRI employees in Kerumutan District. Then the collected data are grouped according to categories, then analyzed in depth to draw conclusions from the research. The results of this study were found to indicate that there were operational risks that occurred at BRI Kerumutan during the Covid 19 pandemic period. Among the operational risks that occurred were grouped into two, namely risk to customers and risk to the bank. Risks to customers that occur are closing or limiting service offices. While the risks to the bank that occur are increased operational expenses due to having to provide hand sanitizer, masks, multivitamins, disinfectants which are provided in large quantities to maintain the health of the office environment, especially for employees, decreased branch profits caused by limited human resources and limited prospect areas. also so that marketing can not optimize its performance. Factors causing operational risk are divided into internal factors from the bank and external factors from customers, the way that BRI Kerumutan does to overcome operational risks that occur is to focus on these 2 factors, optimize controlling for all employees (internal) and also optimize controlling for customer (external).
