Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Project Based Learning learning model in basic accounting subjects for class X AKL SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Terpadu Pekanbaru. This research is a classroom action research carried out in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of two learning meetings consisting of four stages, namely 1) planning, 2) implementing actions, 3) observing, 4) reflecting and having two daily tests. The data obtained in this study include: teacher activities, student activities, tests and documentation. The average increase in teacher activity in the first cycle reached 67.85% in the good category, the second cycle increased to 83.92% in the very good category. In the first cycle student activity the average percentage is 70.93% with good category, then in the second cycle it increases to 85.71% very good category. The application of the Project Based Learning learning model can improve students' basic accounting learning outcomes from basic scores, cycle I to cycle II. The basic score with classical completeness is 44.83%, individual completeness is 13 people with an average of 69.82. Cycle I with classical completeness 65.52%, individual completeness 19 people with an average of 75.17. Cycle II with classical completeness 86.21%, individual completeness 25 people from 29 students with an average of 85.34. From the results of this study it can be concluded that learning by using the Project Based Learning model can improve learning outcomes of basic accounting.
