Abstract
Among students, during the pandemic, many were doing activities only at home with various kinds of tasks available, and this became one of the factors for students to do marathon watching activities or called Binge Watching, as a condition to find other fun and relieve boredom or stress from lecture activities and assignments, which if done excessively will interfere with one's mental health. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Binge Watching behavior and Mental Health in college students in Pekanbaru city. The research subjects totaled 399 students in Pekanbaru City with the sampling technique using Cluster Random Sampling. The data collection method uses the Binge Watching scale compiled by Latifah (2021) totaling 46 items and the Mental Health scale compiled by Aziz (2020) and modified by researchers totaling 43 items. Data analysis used the Pearson product moment correlation test. The results obtained showed a significant relationship with the correlation coefficient r = -0.141 with p = 0.005 (p <0.05). It can be said that the Binge Watching behavior and Mental Health have a negative direction, where the higher the Binge Watching behavior, the lower the Mental Health of Students.
