Abstract

Pokdarwis is a form of tourism destination development program created by the central government and also the local government of Siak Regency to promote tourism villages. The purpose of this study was to analyze coaching of internal tourism aware group on Jelutung Sikai Tourism Management at Perawang Barat Village Tualang District Siak Regency and their inhibiting factors. This research method is qualitative, by conducting interviews with selected informants and the results are analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that: 1) The development of tourism awareness groups in the management of the Jelutung Sikai Tourism Management at Perawang Barat Village Tualang District Siak Regency is still very minimal. This is because in terms of awareness, there has not been an effort to raise awareness for Pokdarwis members on the potential of the Jelutung Sikai tourist attraction, as a result there is no increase in the capacity of Pokdarwis members that can be achieved. In terms of transformation, there has been no effort made by the supervisor to increase the knowledge insight of pokdarwis members, as a result the basic skills and skills of members are limited. The ATM concept (observe, imitate and modify) in other tourist objects such as Toluk Jongkang and Kampung Dayun cannot be applied without a budget to make it happen. In terms of improvement, jelutung sikai is conceptualized as a tourist attraction for picnics and camping activities. This is one of the innovations so that this tourist attraction is unique and different from other similar agro-tourism attractions. 2) The inhibiting factors coaching of internal tourism aware group on Jelutung Sikai Tourism Management at Perawang Barat Village Tualang District Siak Regency namely budget constraints, low participation and enthusiasm of Pokdarwis members, lack of cooperation between Pokdarwis and the community.
