Abstract

Traditional medicine cannot be eliminated from everyday life despite advances in technology and science. The presence of these traditional medicines in the community is expected to be able to overcome various health problems and can also provide opportunities for business actors to sell traditional medicines. However, in practice there are many traditional medicines on the market. Investigators of civil servants at the national drug and food supervisory agency are the authorities in supervising the circulation of these traditional medicines. Based on the background of the problem described above, the author sets out the main problem in this study is how the role of civil servant investigators from the Pekanbaru drug and food supervisory center in supervising the criminal act of circulating illegal traditional drugs and what are the obstacles in supervising the circulation of traditional drugs. illegally by civil servant investigators from the national drug and food control agency. The research method used is the sociological legal method. As well as the nature of this research is analytical descriptive, namely research that explains a deeper and structured picture of the main problems discussed, while the tools to collect data in this study are through interviews and documentation. The results of the research that the author did were, the role of civil servant investigators at the great hall of drug and food supervisors in supervising the criminal act of circulating illegal traditional drugs by conducting an investigation of the criminal act of circulating illegal traditional drugs. Investigations carried out by civil servant investigators at the national drug and food control center are at the level of assisting the police in enforcing laws and regulations in the health sector, especially assisting in the investigation of health crimes. Then the obstacles in the supervision of this traditional medicine are the absence of laws that regulate criminal acts of traditional medicine in particular, the lack of quality human resources, the lack of cooperation between the large drug and food supervisory centers with business actors and traders, and the lack of participation and lack of knowledge public.
