Abstract

It has become one of the benchmarks in assessing the success of the reform program implemented by the government in terms of the quality of the public services. In other words, public service and bureaucratic reform are two things that cannot be separated. In this case, representatives of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia who are at the central or regional level are the most authorized to supervise and assess public services to prevent maladministration. The Ombudsman as a supervisory agency for public service providers in carrying out their functions to carry out their duties in accordance with law No.37 of 2008 by receiving report of complaints of alleged maladministration, checking substance, following up on reports, intervention on their own initiative, coordinating cooperation with institutions, building networks, and efforts to prevent maladministration by using planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. In addition to receiving reports, the Ombudsman must complete complaints from the public which have been stipulated in government regulation Number 21 of 2011. So the formulation of the problem in this study is how the function of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia representative of the Riau Province in handling reports of community maladministration complaints in Pekanbaru City in 2020. Methods This research is to set a descriptive type of qualitative research with data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. So the results of the interviews that the author did show that the Ombudsman has overseen public services and has fulfilled the task to be futher improved so that in terms of resolving maladministration complaints report can be completed in accordance with the specified time period.
