Abstract
The Effect Of The Use Of Electromagnetic-Based Fuel Saving Equipment On The Performance Of Gasoline Engines Slamet Agus Tiono1, Sehat Abdi Seragih2 Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Islam Riau Jl. Kharudin Nasution KM 11 No. 113 Perhentian Marpoyan Pekanbaru Email : agustiono44@student.uir.ac.id ABSTRACT Along with the development of increasingly advanced technology, we as the younger generation are able to make it by creating various creative ideas. Inventories of fuel oil are getting depleted, savings are made in its use. Therefore, the efficiency (saving) of the current use of fuel needs to be done, without having to reduce engine performance. One way to improve the quality of fuel is by using a magnet in the fuel line. The X-Power, Power Plus, and Femax brands of fuel-saving or fuel-enhancing tools are devices that use a magnetic field. The purpose of this study is 1) To determine whether there is an effect of the type of fuel-saving device on the performance of the gasoline engine. 2) To find out which type of fuel-saving device has the best gasoline engine performance. The data are taken directly through testing on a 160 cc megapro motorcycle engine with a rotation of 5000 rpm with premium fuel using an electromagnetically coupled fuel line and without an electromagnetic dynotest test. The results showed that the use of electromagnetic-based fuel-saving devices has an influence on the performance of gasoline engines. Where each use of an electromagnetic-based fuel-saving device produces a different performance. The engine performance using an electromagnetic-based fuel saver is the best, namely by using a Femax type fuel saver, with a torque of 11.2 Nm, a power of 58,61 kW, with a fuel consumption of 1.220 kg/hour, an average effective pressure -Average 0,0149 kPa, Specific Fuel Consumption of 0.0208 kg/kWh, Thermal Efficiency of 71.25%.
