Abstract

This study aims to investigate whether there is an influence of Discovery Learning Model on students? cognitive outcomes in learning Aqidah Akhlak in Grade VIII at MTs. Al-Hamidiyah in Bunut District, Pelalawan Regency. This is a correlational quantitative study. The subject of the study is the students in grade VIII at MTs. Al-Hamidiyah in Bunut district, Pelalawan regency, the object of the study is the influence of discovery learning model on students? cognitive outcomes in learning Aqidah Akhlak in grade VIII at MTs Al-Hamidiyah in Bunut district, Pelalawan regency. The population of the study consists of 84 students, because the population is less than 100 so the sampling technique of the study is the saturated sample. The data collection techniques are tests and questionnaires. Based on the data analysis, it is known that there is an influence of Discovery Learning Model on Cognitive Learning Outcomes in learning Aqidah Akhlak of students in grade VIII at MTs. Al-Hamidiyah. It is known that the results of simple linear regression analysis with a significance value of 0.012, because 0.012 is less than 0.05, so the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The magnitude of the influence can be seen from the summary table, namely the R square value is 0.074 or 7.4%. It means that the cognitive learning outcomes are influenced by the discovery learning model by 7.4% with a very low level. So it can be concluded from the results of the study that there is an influence of the Discovery learning model on the students? cognitive outcomes in learning Aqidah Akhlak at MTs Al-Hamidiyah in Bunut district, Pelalawan Regency.
