Abstract

Several violations that occurred at SDN 012 Simpang Lebuh, among others, such as there are still teachers who come late to school, there are still teachers who do not set a good example to students when entering class during lessons. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the principal as a leader in disciplining teachers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Sources of data from this study were principals and teachers at SDN 012 Simpang Lebuh. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and document review. The instruments used to collect data are interview sheets and observation sheets. The results of this study are the role of the principal as a leader in disciplining teachers has been carried out by the principal well, the principal has disciplined the teacher by means of the principal as a giver of direction, the principal as an agent of change, the principal as a coach. There are three obstacles experienced by school principals, namely the role of the principal as a giver of direction, the principal as an agent of change and the principal as a coach.
