Abstract

Every legal state, including Indonesia, has law enforcement officers, one of which is the Police, which in general has the main task of maintaining public security and order, enforcing the law and providing protection, protection, and service to the community in accordance with applicable regulations to realize legal certainty and justice as contained in the law. form of legislation. Theft is a criminal act, which greatly disturbs the comfort of the people. For that we need a consistent action that can enforce the law, so that harmony is established. One form of theft crime which from the past until now still often occurs and greatly disturbs the security and public order, especially the Mining Police Sector's jurisdiction, is the theft of two-wheeled motorized vehicles. The countermeasures are carried out by the police to minimize the crime of theft of two-wheeled motor vehicles in the jurisdiction of the Mining Police by linking criminology. The formulation of the problem in this study is what are the factors causing the criminal act of theft of two-wheeled motorized vehicles in the jurisdiction of the Mining Police, how to tackle the crime of theft of two-wheeled motorized vehicles in the jurisdiction of the Mining Police and what are the obstacles to overcoming the crime of theft of motorized vehicles. two in the jurisdiction of the Mining Police. This type of research is included in the category of empirical juridical research/sociological legal research. While seen from its nature is descriptive analytical. The results of the research that the authors get, there are several factors that cause the perpetrators to commit the crime of motor vehicle theft, namely: economic, social, cultural and environmental factors. The efforts to tackle the crime of theft of two-wheeled motor vehicles in the jurisdiction of the Mining Police include: preemptive, preventive and repressive efforts. Obstacles experienced in tackling the crime of theft of two-wheeled motorized vehicles include: inadequate infrastructure, lack of public awareness, goods resulting from crime or stolen goods are sometimes not sold as a whole but are sold in parts, difficult to find evidence and witnesses and areas extensive mining police.
